    Oven-Baked Lahmacun Recipe

    Oven-baked lahmacun, combining the unique aroma of the oven with the flavor of pita, impresses everyone with its delicious taste. By following the oven-baked lahmacun recipe, you can prepare exquisite lahmacun at home. Start by preparing the dough with the necessary ingredients. Compared to bread dough, oven-baked lahmacun dough is firmer. After preparing the lahmacun dough, cover it and let it rise, completing the first step of the recipe.

    In the next step, blend the filling ingredients and mix them with minced meat. You will need a deep bowl to prepare the filling for the oven-baked lahmacun. Combine the minced meat and the blended filling ingredients, then mix with spices and vegetable oil in the third step. Place the filling in the middle of the dough that you have rolled out. Preheat your oven to 250°C. Place the baking tray with the lahmacuns in the preheated oven. By following the steps correctly, you will have delicious oven-baked lahmacuns that melt in your mouth.

    Pan-Cooked Lahmacun Recipe

    Lahmacun has an important place in Turkish cuisine. You can also prepare lahmacun suitable for all meals in a pan as well as in the oven. By obtaining the specified ingredients and following the steps correctly, you can prepare delicious pan-cooked lahmacun. Mix the ingredients for the dough in a bowl. Knead the dough until it slightly sticks to your hands, achieving the right consistency. Let the prepared lahmacun dough rest for ten minutes. In the next step, prepare the filling for the lahmacun. Blend all the ingredients except for the minced meat and add them to the minced meat. Mix the filling ingredients with spices, paste, and vegetable oil to enhance the flavor.

    After letting the dough rest for ten minutes, divide it into small portions. As the name suggests, you need to preheat the pan for cooking. Place the filling in the middle of the dough and cook in the preheated pan.

    Ingredients for Homemade Lahmacun

    For the filling:

    • 1 onion
    • 1 green pepper
    • 1 red pepper
    • 2 tomatoes
    • 2 cloves of garlic
    • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
    • A handful of parsley
    • 500g minced meat
    • 1 teaspoon each of ground

    red pepper and red pepper flakes

    • 1 teaspoon each of black pepper and cumin
    • 1 teaspoon salt

    For the dough:

    • 4 cups flour
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 2 cups water

    How to Make Homemade Lahmacun

    1. For the filling, chop the onion, green pepper, and red pepper into a few pieces and blend them in a food processor.
    2. Then add the chopped tomatoes, garlic, tomato paste, and parsley, and blend again.
    3. Transfer this mixture to a suitable bowl, add the minced meat, spices, and salt, and mix well with your hands until you achieve a good consistency.
    4. Cover the prepared filling with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator.
    5. While the filling is resting, prepare the dough. In a suitable mixing bowl, add salt and sugar to the flour and mix briefly. Make a well in the center.
    6. Pour water into the well and start kneading the dough from the edges, incorporating the flour gradually.
    7. Continue kneading until you get a smooth dough.
    8. Cover the prepared dough with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
    9. Take the rested dough out onto a floured surface and divide it into 4 equal parts.
    10. Divide each part into 3 to make a total of 12 pieces.
    11. Shape each piece into a ball by kneading from the outside inwards.
    12. Place the dough balls on a plate, cover them with plastic wrap to prevent drying.
    13. Take one dough ball, place it on a floured surface, and roll it out as thinly as possible with a rolling pin.
    14. After rolling it out to about 23-24 cm in diameter, place parchment paper under the dough.
    15. Cut the parchment paper slightly larger than the rolled dough.
    16. Spread about 2 tablespoons of the filling mixture evenly over the dough with your hands.
    17. Place the lahmacun, along with the parchment paper, into a preheated pan, and cook until the bottom is lightly browned.
    18. Transfer the lahmacun to an oven rack and cook in a preheated oven at 250°C until the edges start to brown.
    19. Cover the cooked lahmacuns with a clean cloth to keep them soft while preparing the rest.
    20. Cook the remaining lahmacuns in the same way. Serve and enjoy.

    Tips for Making

    • Make sure to blend all the filling ingredients well.
    • Knead the dough until smooth and let it rest properly.
    • Roll the dough as thinly as possible for the best texture.

    What to Serve with Lahmacun

    Lahmacun is a fulfilling dish on its own, but if you want to serve something on the side, rice pilaf is a good choice. You can also prepare small snacks like mini lahmacuns, a lettuce salad, or beverages like quince compote that won’t upset your stomach.
